In March 2010 I was hired by Millikan High School (my alma mater) to choreograph a tap dance for the spring concert. I selected “White Sky” by Vampire Weekend and set out on choreographing a rhythm tap dance. Through the dance I was able to teach the students the basic style of rhythm tap (most had not yet performed or learned the style). The dance was performed May 20 and 21, 2010.

In the fall of 2009 I wanted a creative release. I decided to round-up tap dancers young and old at my studio for a different kind of dance. I choreographed a funky, mostly-rhythm tap-styled dance to “That Beep” by Architecture in Helsinki. I taught the young group (ages 8-12) and the old group (ages 15-31) separately and then merged the groups together. The dance was performed during The Dance Co.’s winter show called “Stars” on Feb. 6, 2010.
