Beginnings: I started my journalism journey by starting a newspaper in fifth grade – publishing for the open house and back to school nights at Gompers Elementary. Through middle school, high school, college and now my professional career I have kept a passion for providing accurate information to the public through journalism.
Objective: I am a passionate supporter of providing valuable news and information while building strong online, mobile and social communities around topics and locations. I enjoy working on challenging and exciting assignments, in an environment that encourages innovation. I care about producing quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Quick History: I started as a reporter and assistant news editor at the Cal State Long Beach Daily Forty-Niner in 2003. In the next few years, I worked my way up to editor-in-chief. Upon graduation, I started at the Orange County Register’s Irvine World News just four days after walking across stage to grab my diploma (the job was held for me for a few months until I graduated). I worked my way up at the Register to mobile editor and graphics reporter. In April 2013 I gave birth to my son, Jack. After meeting my husband, he is the miracle in my life. After watching him grow up for a few months, I decided to stay home with him full-time. I now freelance from home – writing, reporting and consulting.
