Every semester, my digital media students at Chapman University worked their way towards multi-faceted story packages.

The reporting and storytelling projects enabled them to take a deep-dive in a subject and tell the story through multiple mediums: words, videos and infographics.

The fall semester of 2021, midway through the pandemic, saw the students choosing to pursue pollution in Orange County. I encouraged the Chapman 211 and 411 classes to choose a subject that they had a passion for pursuing and that worked for Voice of OC, the independent news agency that was setup to publish their work.

The result this semester was a series on pollution exploring earth, air and water.
